Fluid & Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy

Where was this book when I was in undergraduate school? Now that I am teaching nursing I have found it very useful in that it has given me a rare opportunity to present a very complex and hard to understand block of material is a manner much easier for students to understand. It is packed with easy to understand pictures, diagrams, and graphs that help teach the concept in a way that is "reader friendly". The illustrations are unbelievable and a great tool used by the author to present the ideas to the reader. I have even had requests from the Occupational Therapy faculty at our college to use the book for their lectures as well.. Great Job ! I would highly recommend it to anyone, whether a staff nurse or a faculty member at a university or college...

Great reading, good use of colors, structure and humor to get the point across. A nice change from dry textbook review. I found this a valuable refresher on fluid and electrolyte imbalances. Effects on EKG's, ABG interpretation made easy. IV therapy TPN therapy, Everything!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

About the Author
Vamik D. Volkan is Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, an Emeritus Training and Supervising Analyst at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute and the Senior Erik Erikson Scholar at the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. He was the Medical Director of the University of Virginia's Blue Ridge Hospital and director of the University of Virginia's Center for the Study of Mind and Human Interaction. He is a past president of the International Society of Political Psychology, the Virginia Psychoanalytic Society, the Turkish-American Neuropsychiatric Association, and the American College of Psychoanalysts. He is also the author or co-author of forty books and the editor or co-editor of ten more. He has served on the editorial boards of sixteen professional journals including the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, and has published more than four hundred scientific papers or book chapters.

Best books for teaching children to read

Primary phonics are among the most dull-looking books on the market, yet they thoroughly teach chidren how to read quickly and effectively. Not only did they work with my three children, I recommended them to other people (8 children total). For four year olds, ALL of them advanced from sets 1 to 5 in 4 months!. All of the children entered kindergarten reading at a second grade level! The books are amazingly effective!

I used those little readers for 24 years of my teaching, to the point that they literally fell apart. Recently, I was so happy to see that they were still available, and am now using them with my grandchildren.

I bought this book as a follow up to Fife's book on coconut oil and I'm so glad I did! After reading about the miracles and cures of coconut oil in books, magazines and on websites - you start to wonder if it's all just a bunch of hype. As this author points out (and backs by science and research) there is much truth to the claims but there's also a lot of hype. This book taught me to question every claim, examine the motives of government, media, blogs and authors, before entrusting the health of my family. I hope this author writes more books like this!

I am dealing with health issues of high Cholesterol and other things. I decided to rad your book, I had tried oil pulling previously and decided I did not need to do it any more. And as reading you book, I have made the commitment to myself to return to oil pulling, also to take the 4 teaspoons of oil during the day as needed, to start using it in cooking and trying to get more in to diet hopefully will help me redo a lot of things, lose some weight and get healthier and just start improving my health and mental and spiritual and get rid of the depression that has been taking me down. Also the candida, as I said have a lot of issues, and will be working on them, open minded here and may not cure, but may relieve a lot of the pain, and any improvements are greatly appreciated.

I like the format with which you have written this, I will be trying some of the recipes, I was just amazed at all the information you had in this book, not telling that it will cure but what you might try to help.

I feel like we have been lied to by the government, doctors, and scientist and FDA and Big Pharmaceutical's so long they give us things that are poisoning us and ruining our health, I have taken charge of my health years back most of the time, and I need to return to what works and quit lying to myself.

I really enjoyed this book, could not quit reading it, I am going to pursue the use of coconut oil in a lot of ways, especially cosmetically, because the amount of money they want out there for stuff I am allergic to and then you cannot always return it for a refund. My wrinkles are well earned, but to have soft skin without using so many products will be nice, you are simplifying my life, thanks for the tips and will pass along to those who may want to try if they have a story I think that may help them.

Price classes on fermented foods and traditional diets. I had explored everything, GAPS diet, Specific carbohydrate diet, etc. And then... I had the good fortune to meet Gesling grocery shopping and was inspired to check out her book. She explores autoimmunity beyond the surface issues of gluten and leaky gut, and does chronic illness patients a huge service in doing so! She gets to the underlying emotional roots, environmental toxins, etc. She has an impressive body of knowledge, and communicates in language the lay person understands. Reading her book is like listening to a person in everyday conversation. What a wonderful author! What a timely and important book! This work is unsuspecting. It is not expensive nor does it come with a glam shiny cover. It's not on Dr. Oz, yet. I'm writing this review because people need to check this one out.

First of all let me just say this is such a good read I just love this book. The information in this book is invaluable to the world with so many of us being diagnosed or dying with a multitude of various cancers, autoimmune diseases, and chronic illness. . Everything that Tara says really resonated with me on the healing powers that we can take into our own hands just by doing our homework, not just trusting our diagnosis doctors who want to prescribe pharmaceuticals that have side effects almost worse than the disease itself. This book is geared completely towards holistic health and will not only give you the tools and knowledge to better health but it will make you want to take better care of yourself because it gives you the faith that it will matter and make a difference. Tara story is nothing short of miraculous. She was suffering in a wheelchair at 30 with a whole host of diseases, with all the junk food she was pouring in, her body was no longer healthy. Tara turned her world around by implementing natural changes and healthy living found in this book and you can too.

Great book and really inspiring to anyone who wants a big change in their life !

This is such a great book ! It's not only a good source of informations but also a motivation to switch our daily habbits. I found this book here on amazon when searching about thyroid problems. I have no idea how I found it but I am so happy because I learned a lot of stuff about the way this new generation got use to eat so much chemical and still think that it's normal. Just take the time to look at ingredients behind every commercial food that you eat daily and we clearly see that something is wrong ! We support all those big brands selling those cheap food products. Invest in your health NOW ! Support local farms. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their health daily !
